Biofuels

There are several advantages available through the use of biofuels. The benefits offered by biofuels to the environment are already well known. With fossil fuels causing greenhouse gas emissions, we need to look for alternatives especially to save the ozone and arrest global warming. Biofuels are not only far cheaper than fossil fuels but are also cleaner and greener which is why their use is being encouraged a lot in many countries. In fact, the carbon dioxide that is released by biofuels is equal to the percentage of carbon dioxide that is usually absorbed by plants from the atmosphere for photosynthesis. In other words, they can provide energy without really adding any more carbon dioxide to the environment thus preserving the balance of the environment over the long term. The use of biofuels could potentially reduce the carbon emissions by as much as 50%.

Biofuels which are usually available as ethanol and biodiesel offer an alternative to those countries which are subjected to the vagaries of fluctuating oil prices. Countries which depend on oil producing countries for their oil supply could not only save a lot of money through the use of biofuels but also stabilize their own economy through reduced dependence on other oil producing countries. Therefore, unlike in case of fossil fuels, biofuels offer greater stability as you can be assured of their supply. This comes as an assurance in the wake of depleting fossil fuel resources.

Interestingly, some countries have been able to cut down on oil imports through production of biofuels. The production of biofuels also helps in keeping oil prices in check for developing countries as biofuels offer direct competition to fossil fuels as source of energy. A one-time machinery setup could be an investment that can provide energy for a long period of time which is also a very positive factor. Biofuels need to be supported also because they are one of the best ways to reduce automobile pollution. Since it is impossible to check the number of vehicles on the road, an alternative like biofuels would help in keeping the environment cleaner and greener while costing the same or sometimes less than conventional fossil fuels.
